Building a New Life p476-485

Good evening everyone,  This week we will dive into  Building a New Life p476-485.  Speaking of building a new life... Many of us just got back from the convention in Manuel Antonio and it was truly excellent!!  Myself, I met some new friends and strengthened my friendship with old ones. I heard some amazing stories and listened to some great shares that resounded deep in my soul, making me want to look deeper into my self and my work with the program.  I remember being told that staying sober is done one day at a time, this holds true whether you've got 24 hrs or 40+ years - all any of us have is today. But also, that we are embarked on a lifetime journey of spiritual growth that never ends.  Like many other things in the program, I remember feeling like there was a contradiction  hidden   somewhere in between the lines - there isn't.  Of course, if it were up to me we'd have nothing bu...

A Drunk, Like You p398-406

Hi everyone, My apologies on sending this out late this week, I've been battling a little bit of a cold lately. Anywho, I'd like to thank Dave W. for sharing his excellent story with us last week, nothing helps recovery along like a heavy dose of humor & depravity and Jesus Dave delivered in spades!! Also I'd like to remind everyone of the upcoming AA convention in Manuel Antonio that's taking place from May 6-8th. We're still working on the details of organizing our group to get out there but let me know if your interested and go online to  register now  -  It's FREE!!  (to register anyways, you pay later!!) This week we'll be reading  A Drunk, like You p398-406 . This was the first time for me reading it and I got a lot out of it. Aside from the fact that I always love listening to another  Member of the Tribe  breaking barriers by showing that alcoholism is no respecter of race, religion or creed, proving you  jew *i mean too*  ...

The Perpetual Quest p388-397

Good evening everyone, Before I get to the weekly reminder, I wanted to inform everyone, if you didn't know already, that this years  Manual Antonio AA International Convention  is coming up. The convention will be May 6, 7 & 8th (Fri thru Sunday). I think it would be awesome if we could get a group of the wednesday night men's group to go. I even got a hall pass from my significant other already!! You can check out the convention and  register online here  . There are no upfront fees, you pay when you show up. You do need to reserve a hotel room ahead of time and I'd like to get a head count so maybe we can split some rooms between us. Go ahead and take a look at the website and we can discuss everything at the end of the meeting this week. This wednesday night we will be going over  The Perpetual Quest p388-397.  I thought this was a very interesting story, brought me back to a time early in recovery when things seemed more complicated and yet simpl...

AA Int'l Convention & Chapt 5: The Prodigal Son - p.143-156

Good Morning Costa Rica!! The prodigal son has returned and It's great to be back after an amazing journey in Atlanta!! The 2015 International Convention was my first ever and truthfully I can't wait for the next one! The feeling you get hearing the serenity prayer uttered by close to 70.000 people all at once is indescribably beautiful. Thank you to those that accompanied us for making the trip a memorable one. Take a look at some pics from the Georgia Dome while it was filling up.  It was an intense immersion in the AA history and the AA way of life to say the least. It's humbling to  know   that we stand on the shoulders of giants, that AA is a miraculous phenomenon and truly awesome to see the enormous power of that simple basic AA gesture; one drunk helping another drunk to achieve sobriety. If you couldn't make it to this one, start planning for the next one which will be in 2020 in Detroit. I know I will. Anyways, back to business as usual folks...

Wed Night Men's AA: BYE WEEK

Hi Folks, Sorry for writing this in so late, I've just been going to any length to make sure I practice these principles in all my affairs and leave everything in order before heading out for the Atlanta International Convention in about... 5 hrs!! Anyways, remember this week there won't be a meeting at my place 'cuz I won't be here. Three Short Announcements I wanted to make: If you're still in the mood for a wednesday night meeting, Roy M. volunteered to help organize something for those interested. Please contact him by e-mail or cel 7014-7083 or by whatsapp. You could discuss what a terrific host I am or just enjoy the silence now that Fred's not there!! Please keep Jon Pietras in your thoughts & prayers, he's going through a rough time with his health and he could use all the support & good vibes we can send his way. God Bless.    For those of you who knew him, on Saturday, July 4th, it'll be the 1 year anniversary since Zu Group Me...
