Wed Night Men's AA: BYE WEEK

Hi Folks,
Sorry for writing this in so late, I've just been going to any length to make sure I practice these principles in all my affairs and leave everything in order before heading out for the Atlanta International Convention in about... 5 hrs!! Anyways, remember this week there won't be a meeting at my place 'cuz I won't be here.

Three Short Announcements I wanted to make:
  1. If you're still in the mood for a wednesday night meeting, Roy M. volunteered to help organize something for those interested. Please contact him by e-mail or cel 7014-7083 or by whatsapp. You could discuss what a terrific host I am or just enjoy the silence now that Fred's not there!!
  2. Please keep Jon Pietras in your thoughts & prayers, he's going through a rough time with his health and he could use all the support & good vibes we can send his way. God Bless.

  3. For those of you who knew him, on Saturday, July 4th, it'll be the 1 year anniversary since Zu Group Member Doug Glover (aka chocolate chip cookie guy) passed away and joined the fellowship of the spirit. He demonstrated to me it was possible to be truly happy in recovery through a life based on God Reliance, Fellowship in the Program & Service and for that I'll always be grateful. May he rest in peace.

Happy 24hrs,
David t.

A Drunk, Like You p398-406

Hi everyone, My apologies on sending this out late this week, I've been battling a little bit of a cold lately. Anywho, I'd like to thank Dave W. for sharing his excellent story with us last week, nothing helps recovery along like a heavy dose of humor & depravity and Jesus Dave delivered in spades!! Also I'd like to remind everyone of the upcoming AA convention in Manuel Antonio that's taking place from May 6-8th. We're still working on the details of organizing our group to get out there but let me know if your interested and go online to  register now  -  It's FREE!!  (to register anyways, you pay later!!) This week we'll be reading  A Drunk, like You p398-406 . This was the first time for me reading it and I got a lot out of it. Aside from the fact that I always love listening to another  Member of the Tribe  breaking barriers by showing that alcoholism is no respecter of race, religion or creed, proving you  jew *i mean too*  ...

Gutter Bravado p501-511

Good evening Folks, This week we will be reading & discussing  Gutter Bravado p501-511.   One of the great joys of my life is hosting this Wednesday night meeting of which I've had the privileged to serve for some time now. So it gives me a great sense of satisfaction whenever I hear someone, especially a new comer, say that there is  something  special about our meeting. To me it means that the same  something-ness  with which I fell in love with is still there.  Last week, Fred brought up an article originally written in the July 1976 issue of "24 Magazine". In the article, the unknown author compares the quality of someone's AA program to Strong/Medium/Week Coffee.  See the article here:  http://www. barefootsworld.net/ aagreshamslaw.html  It's a bit long but well worth the read (kind of like my e-mails!! lol).  Basically it describes how the rapid growth of AA in the early 40's created a situation in which y...

My Bottle, My Resentments, and Me p437-445

Good evening everyone, Just wanted to send out a quick email and let everyone know that there will be a meeting this wednesday even though it is Semana Santa. We will be reading  My Bottle, My Resentments, and Me p437-445.  I would ask one favor because I am heading out for Nicaragua that very night at 11pm if we could all please arrive punctually so we can close a bit early I'd appreciate it (I know, I'm talking to alcoholics, it's a lost cause.... lol)    Let me know if you can make it please! Best Regards, David t
