Hi David, Got your text, mail and speaker tape. Thanks. Today I’m not feeling so good - and it’s my birthday. I went to a meeting at noon. And listening right now to the speaker that you sent. Have a good meeting tomorrow as I fly across the pond. See you soon. John reply : Hi John, Indeed birthdays, holidays, anniversary's, and any other type of festivity can, at times, be cause for reflection or introspection. There is a particular prayer we read every Tuesday morning called the Desiderata, ( http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~ gongsu/desiderata_textonly. html ), which reads: Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Have a safe flight! -David t.
This blog is a compilation of commentaries about AA, alcoholism, sobriety and recovery. They were created as part of a weekly email series I send out to the AA Wed Night Riverside Men's Group in Escazú, San José, Costa Rica. We are a Men's Big Book and AA-related literature study group with the aim of expanding our knowledge and understanding of the principles set forth by the book Alcoholics Anonymous.
