AA Int'l Convention & Chapt 5: The Prodigal Son - p.143-156

Good Morning Costa Rica!!
The prodigal son has returned and It's great to be back after an amazing journey in Atlanta!! The 2015 International Convention was my first ever and truthfully I can't wait for the next one! The feeling you get hearing the serenity prayer uttered by close to 70.000 people all at once is indescribably beautiful. Thank you to those that accompanied us for making the trip a memorable one.

Take a look at some pics from the Georgia Dome while it was filling up.

It was an intense immersion in the AA history and the AA way of life to say the least. It's humbling to know that we stand on the shoulders of giants, that AA is a miraculous phenomenon and truly awesome to see the enormous power of that simple basic AA gesture; one drunk helping another drunk to achieve sobriety. If you couldn't make it to this one, start planning for the next one which will be in 2020 in Detroit. I know I will.
Anyways, back to business as usual folks. This week we're reading Chapt 5: The prodigal son - p.143-156. See you tomorrow night!
Happy 24hrs,

A Drunk, Like You p398-406

Hi everyone, My apologies on sending this out late this week, I've been battling a little bit of a cold lately. Anywho, I'd like to thank Dave W. for sharing his excellent story with us last week, nothing helps recovery along like a heavy dose of humor & depravity and Jesus Dave delivered in spades!! Also I'd like to remind everyone of the upcoming AA convention in Manuel Antonio that's taking place from May 6-8th. We're still working on the details of organizing our group to get out there but let me know if your interested and go online to  register now  -  It's FREE!!  (to register anyways, you pay later!!) This week we'll be reading  A Drunk, like You p398-406 . This was the first time for me reading it and I got a lot out of it. Aside from the fact that I always love listening to another  Member of the Tribe  breaking barriers by showing that alcoholism is no respecter of race, religion or creed, proving you  jew *i mean too*  ...

Gutter Bravado p501-511

Good evening Folks, This week we will be reading & discussing  Gutter Bravado p501-511.   One of the great joys of my life is hosting this Wednesday night meeting of which I've had the privileged to serve for some time now. So it gives me a great sense of satisfaction whenever I hear someone, especially a new comer, say that there is  something  special about our meeting. To me it means that the same  something-ness  with which I fell in love with is still there.  Last week, Fred brought up an article originally written in the July 1976 issue of "24 Magazine". In the article, the unknown author compares the quality of someone's AA program to Strong/Medium/Week Coffee.  See the article here:  http://www. barefootsworld.net/ aagreshamslaw.html  It's a bit long but well worth the read (kind of like my e-mails!! lol).  Basically it describes how the rapid growth of AA in the early 40's created a situation in which y...
