Speaker Meeting & Choosing a Group Name

Good evening, This Wednesday we've got a speaker meeting. If someone is feeling up to the task of sharing their experience strength and hope please let me know. Otherwise, we'll be picking someone randomly from the Crown Royal bag (always a favorite of mine). Also, you can find the updated schedule for the next few months down below. The hunt for our group name continues. I will continue to take suggestions until next week. At that time I plan on a doing eliminatory style voting in-order to select the top name. First we'll vote on the top 4 names, then the top 2 names, and then finally we'll select a name. The suggestions that still push forward for now are: The Wednesday Night... Hole in the Doughnut Group Missing Marble Group Last Call at the Riverside Group Highly Unlikely Group Sons of Sobriety Group Breaking Good Group Riders on the Storm Group Hell and Back Group Riverside Men's Group Hokey-Pokey Group (That's what its all about) Novocain...

Dr. Bobs Nightmare on page 171

The story we're reading is Dr. Bob's Nightmare on page 171. I'm sure we all have nightmares of our own, but this week, it's Dr.Bob's we're interested in! Regards, David Hello Gentlemen, I'm currently on a work trip and I'm writing from my cellphone so I apologize for the poor formating. Just wanted to remind / inform everyone we decided to go back through the stories in the back of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. This Wednesday we're reading the very first story after chapter 11 (whatever pages that is). Next week I'll hopefully be infront of my desk so I'll send out the schedule properly. ALSO, we're still hunting for a group Name. A few options thrown out there have been: The Hole in the Doughnut The Missing Paddle The Missing Marble The Awakening The Spiritual Rest Hope Against Hope Last Call by the Riverside Last Call High by the Riverside Conscious Contact The Way Home Rule 62 The Steps We Took First Things Fir...

Chapt 6: Questions & Answers - p.157-191

Hi fellas, We had an interesting meeting last week... all five of us! Geez, you leave town for a week and everyone forgets about you!! lol This week we're reading  Chapt 6: Questions & Answers - p.157-191  Which brings me to a bit of business.  After the meeting I'm calling for a group conscious meeting to discuss two topics:  1- This weeks reading is the last chapter in "A New pair of Glasses" so we need to select our next book for reading. I actually apologize for waiting til now to bring this up but what what kind of alcoholic would I be if I didn't leave something for the last minute! 2 - It's come to my attention and to others that all great AA groups have great group names.... I heard some great names like the  Hair of the Dog  Group in West Chester, PA, the  Last Straw  Group in Covina, CA, or the  High we Cannot Buy  Group of LA....  On the other hand, our group's name is..... "The Big Book Study Group"  ...

AA Int'l Convention & Chapt 5: The Prodigal Son - p.143-156

Good Morning Costa Rica!! The prodigal son has returned and It's great to be back after an amazing journey in Atlanta!! The 2015 International Convention was my first ever and truthfully I can't wait for the next one! The feeling you get hearing the serenity prayer uttered by close to 70.000 people all at once is indescribably beautiful. Thank you to those that accompanied us for making the trip a memorable one. Take a look at some pics from the Georgia Dome while it was filling up.  It was an intense immersion in the AA history and the AA way of life to say the least. It's humbling to  know   that we stand on the shoulders of giants, that AA is a miraculous phenomenon and truly awesome to see the enormous power of that simple basic AA gesture; one drunk helping another drunk to achieve sobriety. If you couldn't make it to this one, start planning for the next one which will be in 2020 in Detroit. I know I will. Anyways, back to business as usual folks...

Wed Night Men's AA: BYE WEEK

Hi Folks, Sorry for writing this in so late, I've just been going to any length to make sure I practice these principles in all my affairs and leave everything in order before heading out for the Atlanta International Convention in about... 5 hrs!! Anyways, remember this week there won't be a meeting at my place 'cuz I won't be here. Three Short Announcements I wanted to make: If you're still in the mood for a wednesday night meeting, Roy M. volunteered to help organize something for those interested. Please contact him by e-mail or cel 7014-7083 or by whatsapp. You could discuss what a terrific host I am or just enjoy the silence now that Fred's not there!! Please keep Jon Pietras in your thoughts & prayers, he's going through a rough time with his health and he could use all the support & good vibes we can send his way. God Bless.    For those of you who knew him, on Saturday, July 4th, it'll be the 1 year anniversary since Zu Group Me...
